Our client appointed PJH Architectural Services to design their contemporary ground floor rear extension, internal re-configuration and addition two double bedrooms as part of a full loft conversion. PJH Architectural Services also produced CGI visuals as a part of the Bowdon extension project.
Our detailed drawings looked to create a contemporary rear extension to provide a large dining/relaxation area with a combination of brickwork and architectural horizontal timber cladding to the rear aspect of the property, providing a clean contrast in materials. A flat Sedum roof allows for the incorporation of a large sky light which floods the extension with natural daylight and creates a focal point internally.
The ground floor looks to create a combination of a grand entrance area coupled with a full high atrium which occupies the main stair core, a designated lounge area leads off the main hallway through to a large dining space at the rear of the property opening out into the vast rear garage.
A central study, again with views out into the garden leads through to a substantial open plan kitchen area occupying the left-hand side of the property. Orientation and the south facing rear aspect was a large consideration throughout the design stage, to ensure that large amounts of natural daylight were provided into the property.
The first floor creates a large open landing area with 4 substantial bedrooms, 3 of which with en-suites, a large main bathroom is position central to the landing area. The second floor full loft conversion, provides two large double bedrooms with a shared main bathroom. The atrium looks to extend upto roof level proving natural daylight through the property and upto the second-floor level.
