New Build Knutsford
PJH Architectural Services were appointed to provide full design services for the renovation, refurbishment and new build of our clients existing bungalow set within the green belt area of Mere in Knutsford.
The brief was to create a ‘New England’ style property, with period features associated with the ‘new England’ style of properties, a renovation with the feel of a new build.
In order to maintain budget and reduce unnecessary build costs, we opted to maintain the existing building footprint as part of a value engineering process, and in conjunction with our client, introduce various new build elements such as a prominent entrance atrium and large rear extension as well as a stand-alone double garage.
The use of horizontally laid Marley Cedral fibre cement board cladding panels, provides a clean external appearance which is maintenance free, this combined with natural stonework to the main entrance area, provides a clean and fresh look to the exterior.
The roof pitch was altered in order to maximise first floor head space, as well as the introduction of two large dormers to the front elevation and 3 dormers to the rear elevation.
Planning consent received from Cheshire East Council, works have started on site and are due for completion mid 2019.
