New Build Apartments Altrincham.
PJH Architectural Services have been appointed by our client, Consensus Properties to produce detailed tender and construction drawings for phase 1 works, which consist of the conversation and new build of number 18 The Downs, Altricnham, in order to create 3 luxury apartments.
The Downs Conservation Area comprises of The Downs and the area to its north including Wellington Place, New Street, Lyme Grove and the majority of Norman’s Place, and the south including St John’s Road, Albert Square, Delamer Road, part of Ashley Road and the north side of Cavendish Road, it also includes the northeast side of Ashley Road and the north of Oxford Road.
Careful consideration was given to the design of the new build sections of both phases in order to appease Trafford Councils conservation department, the extent to which a building positively shapes the character of a conservation area depends not just on their street elevations, but also on their integrity as historic structures and the impact they have in three dimensions, perhaps in an interesting roofscape, or skyline. Rear elevations can be important, as can side views from alleys and courtyards and views directly from The Downs.
Having successfully completed phase 1 and all apartments marketed, we were appointed to complete phase 2 which relates to 20-22 The Downs, where we have produced detailed tender and construction drawings for 7 Luxury apartments which combine a mixture of the refurbishment of the existing front part of the property and new build elements to the rear.
