Planning Approved – Wilmslow, Cheshire
Planning has recently been approved by Cheshire East Council on our clients project on their property in Wilmslow, Cheshire. Having previously been extended to the rear, the property already has sufficient floor area, the issue for our client was how best to utilise the available space. At ground floor, the existing layout was unnecessarily complicated, having to travel through study in order to access the kitchen/dining area. A simple internal reconfiguration provides new access through the hall and creates the private office space that is now fundamental in an era of working from home. By converting the garage, we have also been able to provide a sizable utility and downstairs shower room. The brief from our clients also required a dormer loft conversion to provide a new grand master bedroom with en-suite and walk-in-wardrobe facilities, as well as large glazing features to maximise the countryside views to the rear. Externally, the introduction of two small roof apexes to the front elevation provides a greater visual impact as you approach the property and adds symmetry to the original property, while at the rear the new dormer is to be finished with a zinc cladding in order to provide continuity with the existing ground floor rear extension. Upon receiving planning consent, we have produced a detailed set of Building Regulations drawings. These drawings can be used to get accurate quotes from builders and contractors.
