Planning Submitted – Chorlton, Manchester
PJH Architectural Services have recently submitted a planning application to Manchester City Council on behalf of our client. This semi-detached property in Chorlton, Manchester, was a stereotypical “3 up 3 down” layout and needed modernising. With both neighbours previously extending to rear by approx. 6m, gave us the opportunity to play around with larger extension – larger than the current 3.25m projection limit stated in Manchester City Council planning policy so semi-detached dwellings.
The ground floor is a typical wraparound extension, which enable us to create an open plan kitchen, dining, and snug area to the rear with a new utility room accessed from the kitchen space. The front of the ground floor side extension houses a cloak room/ WC. The first floor we have looked to add a new master bedroom, convert the existing box room to a usable bedroom and create a new family bathroom which is large enough for a family to use. We achieved this by extending directly above the ground floor on the side extension and partial width at the rear whilst abiding Manchester City Councils planning policy.
Now planning has been submitted we look forward to receiving consent from Manchester City Council and progressing onto producing building regulations drawings for our client.
